Sonex Research, Inc. developed its patented and patent pending Sonex Combustion System (SCS) technology which enables major advancements in the state-of-the-art of combustion in two-stroke and four-stroke internal combustion engines. Sonex was founded by Dr. Andrew A. Pouring, a former Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Chairman of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Sonex has licensed several applications of its technology. SCS applications include:

• Convert gasoline engines to run on safer diesel-kerosene-type “heavy fuels” for use in military and commercial applications such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and generator sets
• Improve combustion stability, fuel consumption, power, emissions and reliability of stationary engines operating on natural gas
• Lean-burn combustion process for the automotive market for gasoline direct injected (GDI) engines to cost effectively improve fuel mileage by 25% and reduce CO2, NOX and UHC emissions to lowest level possible.
• Reduction of particulates in direct injected diesel engines

Sonex has not been an operating company since 2020 when it closed its facility. The Company conducts business in connection with the litigation settlement and is accepting technology licensing or purchase offers.
